BPM OPEN CALL
Stories have long demonstrated their power to amplify voices and deepen cultural understanding, a truth reflected in the films BPM has supported over the years. We rely on our community of talented media-makers to create compelling, nuanced work that brings the perspectives, experiences, and concerns of the Black community into the broader public discourse. BPM is especially interested in projects that explore critical issues, foster cultural understanding, and engage local and national audiences.
For this year’s Open Call, we are accepting feature-length, nonfiction projects across all subject areas. Independent filmmakers are invited to submit feature‑length nonfiction works in a wide range of formats, styles, and genres. Up to five (5) projects will be selected to pitch their project at BPM’s 10th PitchBLACK. One project will receive up to $xxx, xxx in production funding at the PitchBLACK forum in June 2026.
